After a two year search, the Spirit of Flight Foundation has chosen a new home: Nampa Municipal Airport (KMAN) in Idaho.
Now based in Westminster, Colorado, the Spirt of Flight Center is expected to move its collection to its new facility in Idaho after the new facility is completed in November 2021.
Aircraft in the collection include a James Bond movie BD-5 jet, a 1947 race plane built by Art Chester, and a radio-plane target drone, built in the factory where Marilyn Monroe was discovered. The new facility will also be the home for Spirit of Flight Productions, according to officials.

“Nampa Municipal Airport is recognized as one of the best, if not the best, municipal airports in the United States, and is home to some incredible aviation organizations,” said Gordon Page, president of the Spirit of Flight Foundation.
He noted the main building will be 8,000 square feet, with 3,200 square feet of office and gallery space.
“The build site allows for a future 3,600 square foot building to complement the Spirit of Flight Center campus,” he added.
“It’s been a crazy few years trying to find a new home for the Spirit of Flight,” said Museum Director, Chris Pedersen. “Visitors will be impressed at how the collection will be set up in Nampa. It’s going to be amazing!”
