RENO, Nevada — Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology has chosen Pathways to Aviation as its 2021 Technology Non-Profit of the Year.
Pathways to Aviation is being recognized for the career readiness certification system it designed to train and guide high school and college students toward aviation and aerospace employment. Launched in 2020, the system makes career readiness training more accessible for all students at no charge. Students also attend weekly online workshops and participate in small-group mentoring to fine-tune their career readiness skills, according to Pathways officials.
Now in its 14th year, the NCET Technology Awards celebrate the Northern Nevada individuals and companies who have “greatly enhanced the growth and prestige of the technology community.” The Technology Non-Profit of the Year Award is presented to the nonprofit organization whose programs, events and educational activities make technology more accessible, affordable, secure, and simpler for people in northern Nevada or which creatively and effectively uses technology to delivers its services to stakeholders.
Pathways to Aviation provides aviation education to K-12 students, career mentoring to high school and college students, and scholarships to those seeking tuition assistance for college, trade schools, and certifications. The privately funded 501c3 organization offers its programs at no cost to students and job seekers. For more information, visit PathwaysToAviation.org.
