ForeFlight releases version 13.5

By General Aviation News Staff · July 13, 2021 ·

ForeFlight latest release, version 13.5, includes Hold Advisor, Augmented Procedures, EOP visualizations in Runway Analysis, and more.

Hold Advisor

Insert a holding pattern anywhere in your route with flexible parameters and automatic pattern entry selection. A user can set up a new enroute holding pattern in a number of different ways: from Procedure Advisor, from the options menu after tapping any waypoint bubble within the FPL Editor, and by tapping directly on any waypoint on the map to find the new “Hold” button in the popup header. Hold Advisor provides a set of simple yet flexible parameters to set up the pattern exactly as required, and automatically uses the appropriate the pattern entry based on your course to the fix. Hold Advisor is included in ForeFlight Pro Plus and Business Pro subscription plans and above.

Augmented Procedures

Find the appropriate minimum for an approach procedure and display it as part of your route to supplement the plate and reduce the risk of errors with Augmented Procedures. ForeFlight uses Jeppesen procedure data to recreate the information displayed on the plate itself. Select a minimum in Procedure Advisor to display it directly on the map at the missed approach point as a prominent magenta marker for quick inflight reference. Augmented Procedures is available with ForeFlight Performance plans.

Expanded Runway Analysis Support

ForeFlight’s advanced Runway and Obstacle Analysis capability for jets now supports Bombardier’s Global 5000, Global Express, Global XRS, Learjet 60XR, and Learjet 70; Gulfstream’s GVII-G500; and Embraer’s Phenom 300. Runway Analysis is available for a growing list of aircraft types as an add-on to ForeFlight Performance subscription plans.

Runway Analysis: EOP Visualization

Preview the ground tracks of available engine-out procedures (EOPs) in Runway Analysis along with their textual instructions for enhanced visualization while flight planning. Engine Out Procedures are a critical component of ForeFlight Runway Analysis, which is available as an add-on to ForeFlight Performance subscription plans.

ForeFlight MFB: Select Multiple MTR Types

Government and military pilots flying with ForeFlight Military Flight Bag can now view multiple types of Military Training Routes on the map at once, choosing any combination of Instrument, Visual, and Slow Routes to better support mission requirements.
