Officials with Capital Flight, based at Middleton Municipal-Morey Field Airport (C29) in Wisconsin, report that the fifth annual “Rock the Ramp” celebration, held July 23, 2021, was a resounding success.
Billed as “The World’s Largest Pre-OSH Bash,” the annual event attracts pilots from around the country on their annual pilgrimage to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.
This year’s Rock the Ramp was the “most ambitious yet, adding fireworks and a special performance by world renowned Red Bull Air Race Pilot Michael Goulian,” said Matthew Hofeldt, Capital Flight president.

Each year Capital Flight leadership selects a new theme and new charity to benefit from the event.
“This year, Badger Honor Flight was selected and the event was opened up to the public at large,” Hofeldt reported. “With an estimated 2,000 people in attendance and more than 100 aircraft flying in, the efforts by Capital Flight, the community, gracious sponsorships, and the talented entertainment yielded $31,028 raised for Badger Honor Flight.”

Badger Honor Flight is a regional affiliate of the national Honor Flight Network, which provides free flights to World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, and terminally ill veterans from any war so they have the opportunity to see the memorials that have been erected in their honor.
The 2022 Rock the Ramp will take place Friday, July 22, and “will be bigger and better than ever,” Hofeldt promises.
