The Midwest LSA Expo takes off Sept. 9-11, 2021, at Mt. Vernon Outland Airport (KMVN) in Illinois.
The free event features Light-Sport Aircraft (LSA), including Part 103, STOL (Short Take off and Land), and gyroplanes on one flightline. Unlike some of the bigger shows, demo flying is a lot easier at this show, organizers note.

The Expo also will feature many informative aviation seminars and forums presented by experts in the industry, including:
- FAA Update 2021: More Big Changes, Dan Johnson, President, Light Aircraft Manufacturers Association and General Aviation News Splog columnist
- Flying with Rotax Engines: Brett Lawton, Leading Edge Airfoils
- Garmin Avionics for Experimentals and LSA: Brad Brensing, Garmin International
- How to Certify Your Aircraft: Paul Mather, FAA DAR, M Squared Aircraft
- Building Your Own LSA from a Kit: Sebastien Heintz, Zenith Aircraft
- Mixing it up in the Traffic Pattern: Colonel Bob McDaniel, C-141 Pilot, USAF Ret.
- VFR Airspace Review: Lt. Colonel Steve Willis, F-16/F-4/T-38 Pilot USAF Ret.
- Fuelish Thinking: Steve Goetz, FAA Designated Pilot Examiner
- Charity Flying/Flight Activities in Haiti: Rod Mullinax, Flights for Christ
Free admission, free parking, free local shuttles, and free camping.
Such a great airport and airport manager. This show is one of the best for selling because of the convenience of the runway access.
