Gearing up for Girls in Aviation Day

By General Aviation News Staff · August 28, 2021 ·

Women in Aviation will celebrate Girls in Aviation Day Sept. 25, 2021, during in-person or virtual events as local health guidance allows.

A full list of events is at WAI.org.

The Aviation for Girls App continues to be available on all app stores for free with new content available Sept. 1, 2021, for this year’s events.

And for the seventh year in a row, the International Society of Transport Aircraft Training (ISTAT) Foundation, which funds educational programs that advance commercial aviation, has given WAI a $12,500 grant. This year the grant will be used to expand the distribution of the special Aviation for Girls magazine.

The print version of the magazine will be provided to thousands of kids enrolled for the new Aviation for Girls App, and all past seven issues of the magazine are available digitally on the Aviation for Girls App. The 2021 issue also will be available digitally at WAI.org.

The Aviation for Girls magazine will also be included with the September/October issue of Aviation for Women so that all WAI members have a copy of the magazine to pass along to a daughter, granddaughter, niece, neighbor, or other girl in their lives.

“The ISTAT Foundation’s support of Aviation for Girls, as well as our Girls in Aviation Day events, puts all the excitement of aviation in the hands of kids all around the world. With interesting and informative content crafted for all age groups, girls can see opportunities that they may never have considered,” says WAI CEO Allison McKay.
