Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies, has signed an agreement to acquire privately-held FlightAware, best known for its global flight tracking.
Closing of the deal is subject to regulatory approvals, according to Collins Aerospace officials. Once the deal is done, FlightAware will become part of the Information Management Services portfolio in Collins Aerospace’s avionics strategic business unit.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
“FlightAware’s flight tracking and data platform, the largest in the world, has the potential to deliver new capabilities and innovations across our entire business,” said Dave Nieuwsma, Collins Aerospace’s head of avionics.
