4AIR has launched an interactive map to show private jet owners where to find Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
The map features nearly 20 verified SAF fuel locations. 4AIR excludes locations if they have only had the fuel once, only maintain supply for a particular customer, or do not have gallons available for purchase to the business aviation community.
Each listing includes a street address, a link to the FBO’s website, and a contact telephone number.
The map will be continuously updated as new locations are verified or new announcements are made, company officials noted.
Sustainable Aviation Fuel is a “drop-in” fuel, meaning it has a similar chemical composition to fossil fuels and can be pumped, stored, and used within the existing fuel infrastructure. The hydrocarbons come from more sustainable sources, such as used or waste cooking oils, tallow (waste animal fats), waste biomass, and municipal solid waste.
How about in the northeast?
What about a map for unleaded fuel for GA piston aircraft. That’s what I need.
Right…
Agreed. Reid-Hillview and Mountainview on the West Coast offer Swift 94 octane, and there might be more coming but that’s all so far.
EPA is conducting a study over a lot – a real lot, might be a hundred – GA airports across the country, and the outcome will show low levels, but this plea of community saying “you are belching lead over our community and killing our children” will spread since it’s easy to say and hard to defend (whether true or not).
You could go to the Santa Clara County website and review the reports for Reid-Hillview and you’ll get the point.
