Can pilots use CBD products?

By General Aviation News Staff · October 14, 2021 ·

CBD products are everywhere these days. In a new video just posted to YouTube, the FAA is warning pilots that CBD can affect your ability to fly.

“The THC content in CBD products is not regulated, and the amount may be unknown to pilots,” agency officials note. “Impairment and a positive drug test are both possible. Consequently, the FAA strongly discourages CBD use.”

As a hemp grower and part time user for pain and sleep aid if you use “full spectrum” hemp with THC bumping the legal limit of .3% for 30 days and were tested it is my understanding you might get flagged. How is that for a definite maybe? By the way I am over 70 and have never used an illegal drug.

Lack of knowledge! CBD products are tested for THC content. Any with more than 0.3% THC may not be used. I seriously doubt there will be any standards until cannabis is descheduled. BUT despite coming from the same plant, CBD products have a cap on the THC content.

Same warning for concealed carry holders.
