By General Aviation News Staff · November 2, 2021 ·

Air Race Classic officials have released the route of the 45th annual race, slated to be held June 21-24, 2022.

The competition, open to women pilots, is scheduled to begin in Lakeland, Florida, home of SUN ‘n FUN. Scheduled stops include Moultrie, Georgia; Muscle Shoals, Alabama; Hattiesburg, Mississippi; Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Ada, Oklahoma; Lawrence, Kansas; Mt. Vernon, Illinois; and Tullahoma, Tennessee, with the race ending in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Although officials said they will continue to monitor the status of any changes to federal, state, or local COVID-related restrictions that could affect the plans to hold the race, registration is set to open on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at noon eastern.

Check the Air Race Classic website for details about the 2022 race, including everything prospective racers need to know about flying the race and how to register.

Air Race Classic is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization with a mission of encouraging and educating female pilots, increasing public awareness of general aviation, demonstrating women’s roles in aviation, and preserving and promoting the tradition of pioneering women in aviation.
