Lightspeed introduces new leather backpack for pilots

By General Aviation News Staff · January 27, 2022 ·

Lightspeed Aviation has introduced The Duke, a black leather backpack for pilots.

Continuing the company’s tradition of naming its Adventure Flight bags after noted aviation authors, the newest addition is named the “Duke” after Neville Frederick Duke, the World War II British test pilot, fighter ace, and writer.

“The Duke is handmade from full grain, oiled South American black cowhide and has its own distinctive grain and markings, making each bag as unique as the pilot who owns it,” company officials said.

The backpack features gusseted pockets on both sides — one with a security clasp for radio with transceiver, and one for a water bottle.

A designated zippered laptop pocket has two sections for mobile devices. A Velcro strap on the back can be used to hook to roller bag luggage or secure the backpack straps.

Other features include:

  • A lined pocket for eyeglasses and sunglasses
  • A Velcro loop hang tag for a headset
  • Mesh pockets for credit cards, pens, wallets, and more

Price: $269.
