Electronic Fuel Transfer Pump approved for Erco, Forney, Alon

By General Aviation News Staff · January 31, 2022 ·

Alpha Aviation has received Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval from the FAA for the installation of an Electronic Fuel Transfer Pump (EFTP) system as a replacement to previously installed engine driven fuel transfer pumps.

The STC allows owners of ERCO 415-C, CD, D, E, and G, Forney F-1, F-1A, and Alon A-2 and A2-A aircraft powered by Continental O-200A engines to replace their engine driven pumps with the new system.

The EFTP STC authorizes the removal of the engine driven fuel transfer pump, closing of the engine pump drive pad, and mounting of an electric fuel transfer pump on the firewall of the aircraft. The existing fuel lines are rerouted from the engine pump to the firewall mounted electric fuel transfer pump.

An electrical circuit equipped with fusing, switching, and fuel transfer warning light is added for control and safety, according to company officials. The warning light is wired to alert the pilot when the Master Switch is powered up in the airframe and fuel is not moving through the fuel transfer system.

The kit is priced at $599 plus shipping, and includes parts, hardware, installation instructions, STCm and STC authorization. Cover and gasket are not included.
