Straight Talk about airspace modernization

By General Aviation News Staff · March 31, 2022 ·

A team of avionics sales professionals at Duncan Aviation recently updated information in the company’s “Airspace Modernization Straight Talk Book.”

The book covers the FAA’s airspace modernization initiatives, including mandates in the U.S. and throughout the world, and covers what types of equipment are necessary to take advantage of the new technologies, such as Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) and Future Air Navigation Systems (FANS), according to company officials.

You can download a PDF of the book for free at DuncanAviation.aero.

NextGen (PastGen) and ADS-B are still a massive $40B failure. No way are they ever going to reduce the “Cost per unit separation service” or assure the airspace access, capacity, safety, and efficiency needed for all airspace users from GA to drones to air transport, to military… for the next century, at any cost, let alone at any affordable cost. Instead, automated dynamic RNP trajectory based separation is needed, with families of D/Ls. But both FAA and DoT have no idea whatsoever about they’re doing for ATS or as an ANSP. So sad. Airspace and ANSP policy as bad as for inflation, borders, energy, defense, and crime. It is eventually going to crush GA.
