Updated program gives safety meetings a flying start

By General Aviation News Staff · April 25, 2022 ·

The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association Air Safety Institute (ASI) has released new downloadable PowerPoint presentations to revitalize its Safety to Go program.

Safety to Go provides the general aviation community access to some of ASI’s popular seminar and webinar topics, including decision making, radio communications, emergency procedures, night flying, and collision avoidance, ASI officials explain.

“We are excited to bring back this program with fresh material that flight schools, flying clubs, and other groups can use in their safety meetings,” said ASI Manager of Safety Programs and Chief Flight Instructor John Collins, who oversees ASI’s webinar, seminar, and CFI renewal programs.

“The revamped material also includes ASI’s Scalable Safety Framework presentation and handouts to help pilot groups formulate, implement, and sustain a safety culture with a user-friendly, SMS-like approach suitable for general aviation,” he continued. “These are a great way to prepare for the upcoming flying season and to stay sharp year-round.”

Each download comes with a PowerPoint presentation file and presenter notes to help deliver topics easily and effectively, he noted. New topics and material will be added throughout the year.
