Up Up and Away Hot Air Balloon Festival takes to the skies this weekend

By General Aviation News Staff · May 4, 2022 ·

LAKELAND, Florida — The Up Up and Away Florida Hot Air Balloon and Music Festival takes to the sky May 6-8, 2022, on the SUN ‘n FUN campus on Lakeland Linder International Airport (KLAL).

Hosted by Up Up and Away Florida, a non-profit organization, the event will include evening twilight hot air balloon glows, plus early morning and late afternoon mass ascensions, coupled with live music from 10 local bands.

A variety of entertainment, including tethered balloon rides, a car show, helicopter rides, multiple attractions, a kid zone, vendors, and food will make this the largest hot air balloon festival in the state of Florida, according to organizers.

The festival is expected to attract more than 35,000 people, according to organizers.

Daily admission tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the gate. Children 6 years and younger are free. A Family Pack of four tickets for $60 is available online until midnight May 5.
