FAA offers spring training for general aviation pilots

By General Aviation News Staff · May 16, 2022 ·

The FAA is holding a free “spring training” session for general aviation pilots May 19, 2022.

The second annual GA Runway Safety Workshop will focus on runway procedures and work to preempt any airfield errors by GA pilots, FAA officials noted.

Discussion topics include runway geometry and signage, Hot Spot standardization, arrival alert notices, Digital Co-Pilot, automated construction notices, hold short issues, and more.

FAA and industry experts will participate in four safety panel discussions:

  • Surface Safety at Airports
  • New Runway Safety Tools
  • The Danger of Rust and Inattention
  • From the Flight Deck and From the Tower

The workshop will be held over Zoom from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time and offer WINGS credits.

At the time of the event, pilots should sign in to the webinar using this link. The password is 484283, which is required to log in to the webinar.

The workshop will also be livestreamed on YouTube, but WINGS credit can only be obtained by watching it on Zoom, FAA officials noted.
