Some people have a natural mechanical aptitude!! Others try to go by rote memory only!!! I certainly don’t want these kinds of mechanics working on my airplane!! As a long time A&P I have met everything from grow your own mechanics to people who I wouldn’t even have working on a lawn mower!! If they don’t test these people for a mechanical aptitude , it’s a crap shoot!!! I’m approaching 80 years old now and been around aircraft of all kinds aftet 40+ years in the Airforce and local FBO working part time and own my own airplane. As I was taught early on, you hold the lives of the people who fly on an aircraft you have repaired and signed off in your hands!!! Are you really ready to take the responsibility????
