Bandera State Airport (4W0) in Washington is expected to open “no later” than July 1, 2022, according to state aviation officials.
That’s later than usual, officials acknowledge.
“Extreme seasonal wet conditions have resulted in standing water in several places with soft spots,” officials report. “Additionally, severe large sink holes have developed that need to be repaired before the airport can be opened.”
“In order for repairs to begin, the airport needs to dry out some more,” officials added.
Officials advise pilots to check NOTAMs and contact the State Airports Manager at [email protected] or 360-618-2477 for updated information or questions.
“Thanks for your patience while we wait for Mother Nature to dry out a bit and repairs can be made,” they concluded.
