Marshall University maintenance program gets FAA nod

By General Aviation News Staff · July 15, 2022 ·

Marshall University and Mountwest Community and Technical College’s Aviation Maintenance Technology program in Huntington, West Virginia, has been certified by the FAA.

Based at Huntington Tri-State Airport (KHTS), the new program is the first of its kind in the region, according to university officials.

Graduates of the 18-month program receive an Associate of Applied Science degree and are eligible to take the FAA’s Airframe and Powerplant certification exams.

Enrollment is now open. The program will accept 30 students in Fall 2022, 30 in Spring 2023, and additional students each fall after, officials explained.

The Aviation Maintenance program is not eligible for veterans affairs benefits at this time, officials added.
