STC approved for new prop on Seneca

By General Aviation News Staff · July 20, 2022 ·

MT-Propeller has received an FAA STC for its 3-blade prop on the Piper PA-34-200 Seneca I.

The prop, which weighs about 20 pounds less than the original propeller, is approved for Senecas powered by Lycoming IO-360-C1E6 and LIO-360-C1E6 engines.

According to MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht, the prop features:

  • Bonded on stainless steel leading edge for erosion protection of the blades
  • A slightly improved takeoff distance
  • Increased ground clearance for less blade tip erosion
  • Best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operations
  • No rpm vibration restriction
  • Unlimited blade life
