MT Propeller approved for Cessna 206

By General Aviation News Staff · August 4, 2022 ·

MT-Propeller has received an STC for its 5-blade natural composite propeller on the Cessna 206.

According to company officials, the STC, which covers 206s powered by the propeller turbines PT6A conversion, features:

  • Bonded on nickel alloy leading edge for erosion protection of the blades
  • Cruise performance improved by up to 6 to 8 ktas
  • Reduced prop diameter, which means more ground clearance for reduced Foreign Object Debris (FOD)

The natural composite blades “provide significant inside and outside noise reduction,” company officials add. “They have no life limitation and are repairable in case of an FOD.”

MT-Propeller manufactures 30 certified propeller models. It holds more than 220 STCs worldwide and is a supplier for more than 90% of the European aircraft industry as well as 30% of the US aircraft industry. More than 28,000 propeller systems with more than 90,000 blades are in service, according to company officials.
