EAA AirVenture Oshkosh wasn’t the only air show in July.
More than 80,000 people attended the 2022 CenterPoint Energy Dayton Air Show, held July 30-31.
The 48th annual show at Dayton International Airport (KDAY) featured the U.S. Navy Blue Angels in their new F/A-18 Super Hornets, along with other performers and a couple of new acts, according to organizers.

Officials note it was the “one of the biggest shows” in the air show’s history.
“This year’s air show did not disappoint. We are incredibly pleased with the turnout,” said Scott Buchanan, chairman of the United States Air & Trade Show Board of Trustees, producers of the show. “We couldn’t have asked for better weather. We’ve had a fantastic response from the crowds on our lineup. We’re very thankful to our loyal fans, sponsors and volunteers who help make the show a success year after year.”
Planning is already underway for the 2023 show, which will feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds on July 22-23.

Very poorly organized. Only one entrance to parking forcing visitors to wait hours to get into the show. They make it sound great it wasn’t and that’s because they didn’t plan.
