Seaplane serenity

Anyone who has ever been to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh knows it can be overwhelming. The sheer volume of people, activities, and airplanes can be exhilarating, but it can also be exhausting.

A hidden gem at the country’s largest airshow is the Seaplane Base. It takes a bus ride to get there from the show grounds on Wittman Regional Airport (KOSH), but it’s well worth the time.

There’s a different atmosphere at the seaplane base, which often allows those attending the show to take a moment to relax and recharge their batteries for the rest of the show.

General Aviation News photographer Megan Vande Voort spent some quality time at the seaplane base during the 2022 show and took a few hundred photos. Here are just a few to enjoy:
