The best-kept secret in aviation

By General Aviation News Staff · August 23, 2022 ·

AvWxWorkshops has released a new book by aviation author Dr. Scott Dennstaedt, “The Skew-T log (p) and Me: A primer for pilots.”

A thermodynamic chart such as the Skew-T log (p) diagram is the best-kept secret in aviation, according to Dennstaedt.

“This primer is the most comprehensive resource available for general aviation pilots who want to leverage its use as supplemental weather guidance for preflight route planning,” he said. “Specifically, the Skew-T diagram allows you to drill down over a particular location to identify or describe adverse weather better in time and space to enhance your preflight weather briefing in a way that few other tools can, assuming you know how to unlock its plentiful secrets.”

“While the Skew-T is used every day by weather forecasters, in recent years there has been a huge interest in the aviation world for a comprehensive book on this topic,” Dennstaedt continued. “I like to use the Skew-T as a canvas in my 1-on-1 online training to teach pilots about the basic principles of weather.”

The eBook includes more than 200 diagrams, images, and photos “to make this complex subject easy to understand,” he noted.

There are two versions of the eBook available for purchase. The first version is available for $49.95 or you can purchase a version for $89.95 that gives you free updates for major updates of the eBook that will be released on an annual basis through July 26, 2027.

None of the browsers I use require the www prefix. In this case, it’s a clickable link and works fine.

The supplied link requires the “www” in front to work!
