Double the fun at KMVN

By General Aviation News Staff · August 29, 2022 ·

The Midwest LSA Expo at Mt. Vernon Outland Airport (KMVN) in Illinois promises something extra in 2022: The KR National Gathering will run concurrently at KMVN during the free expo.

Slated for Sept. 8-10, the expo features Light Sport Aircraft, including Part 103, STOL (Short Take off and Land), and gyroplanes “on one easily accessible and demo flight friendly flightline,” according to airport officials.

The KR National Gathering, which will be held Sept. 9-10, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the pioneer homebuilt aircraft.

A variety of seminars will be held, including an update on the FAA’s proposed changes to LSA by General Aviation News Splog columnist Dan Johnson.

Other seminars will discuss Rotax engines, Special Use Airspace and flight briefing tools, and how to become a sport pilot instructor, as well as several forums dedicated to the KR.

The expo offers free admission, free parking, free local shuttles, and free camping, airport officials add.
