Flight Training Survey opens

By General Aviation News Staff · September 5, 2022 ·

The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association’s Flight Training Experience Survey is now open.

The AOPA Flight Training Experience Survey gives pilots a chance to provide feedback on different aspects of their flight training, such as educational quality, customer focus, community, and information sharing.

AOPA uses the survey results in two ways, according to officials.

The first is to recognize exceptional flight schools and instructors, while the second is to identify trends in the flight training industry.

“We also provide the direct feedback from this survey to flight schools and instructors who are interested in improving,” officials said. “The reports offer a great metric for where a flight school or instructor stands related to national averages in flight training satisfaction and give constructive criticism on how to provide better service and experiences.”

Based on the survey’s results, industry experts — who are unaware of the identity of the school or instructor — will choose six flight schools and six CFIs to receive recognition as the best in their region, along with one school and one CFI who shine above the rest.

The 2021-2022 Flight Training Experience Awards recognized Ambyr Peterson from Minneapolis as the Best CFI and In the Pattern in Denton, Texas, as the Best Flight School.

Pilots who fill out the survey also are eligible to win prizes, including:

  • Aircraft Spruce: $150 gift card.
  • AeroSpace Reports: One free title search package which includes the FAA Title Search, Accident-Incident Reports, and PDF copies of all the Airworthiness and Registration documents on file with the FAA. Value: $135

  • PilotWorkshops.com: One Real World VFR program on flash drive. Value: $149
