The Kentucky Aviation Hall of Fame has revealed its Class of 2022, including:

Mike Collins, who passed away in 2021, worked with the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) as technical editor and director of business development. He was a gifted writer, editor, photographer, audio storyteller, and videographer and was an instrument-rated pilot and drone pilot.

Phillip “Jack” Baugh Jr.: Retired from the Air Force in October 1962 with the rank of Captain. He had a love of flying, and in particular, gliding and sailplanes. He was instrumental in the development and production of Leonard Niemi’s Sisu 1A sailplane, which captured the world’s free distance record of 1,000 km (646 miles).

Joyce McClendon Evans: As a biomedical senior research associate, she has helped make pioneering discoveries about the effects of space travel on the cardiovascular system.

The 2022 Aviation Achievement Award will be presented to ASR-Pioneer. Located in Nicholasville, Kentucky, the company has been developing aerospace products for more than 80 years, including aircraft emergency parachute recovery systems.

The 26th Annual Hall of Fame Enshrinement ceremony is October 22, 2022, in Lexington, Kentucky.
