University teams with AeroGuard Flight Training Center

By General Aviation News Staff · December 13, 2022 ·

PHOENIX — AeroGuard Flight Training Center has been selected by Arizona State University to provide flight training to students enrolled in the university’s professional flight degree program.

AeroGuard will train students with zero flight experience to help them earn their commercial pilot certificate and beyond, according to company officials. Students who complete the program will earn a bachelor of science in Aeronautical Management Technology.

AeroGuard Flight Training Center, which has trained more than 7,000 professional pilots since its founding more than 20 years ago, is headquartered at Deer Valley Airport (KDVT), with a second location in the Phoenix area at Chandler Municipal Airport (KCHD). The school also has locations in Texas and Florida.

The ASU B.S. in Aeronautical Management Technology program has more than 250 students completing their practical pilot training and supporting coursework at ASU’s Polytechnic campus in Mesa, Arizona. This degree allows students to complete their private, instrument, and commercial single and multi-engine ratings, as well as optional Flight Instructor Certificates.

With approval from the FAA, graduates are qualified for the Restricted ATP at 1,000 flight hours, helping them advance more quickly to their careers compared with other pilots requiring over 1,500 hours of experience, school officials noted.
