The latest in a series of videos by Smitty Smith of FunPlacesToFly.com takes a peek into the hangars of avid aviators. The latest features Bob Rogers, who bases his two aircraft at McKinney National Airport (KTKI) in Texas. Bob’s hangar houses his 1966 V35 Bonanza and his experimental Mustang II, which Bob says means he has the “best of both worlds.”
The short video includes Bob talking about his unusual engine on the Mustang and how that affected the building process.
Just a side note on the subject of hangars. I may be anal when it comes to spelling and grammar, but I can’t help it since I was educated by the nuns in grammar school (1950s) and have the psychological scars as a result.
More often than not, I see people spelling Hangar with an E rather than an A.
A hangEr is a device to hang your clothes.
A HangAr is a storage building for airplanes.
Word association: Just remember that the A in hangAr means Airplane!!!.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go say three Hail Marys and 1 Our Father.
Thanks for listening.
One of the best comments I’ve read in the dozen and dozen of sites related to aviation. 🤣🤣🤣
