WINGS 2022 Sweepstakes winners revealed

By General Aviation News Staff · January 25, 2023 ·

The 2022 winners of the WINGS Industry Network (WIN) Paul and Fran Burger WINGS Sweepstakes have been announced, with 10 flight instructors and pilots winning cash prizes ranging from $500 to $1,500.

In its fifth year, the sweepstakes awards pilots and CFIs who participate in the FAA’s WINGS program, earning chances in the sweepstakes for every WINGS phase they complete.

The WINGS Industry Network is a coalition of industry members dedicated to general aviation safety. Its vision is to reduce the general aviation accident rate through participation in the FAA Safety Team WINGS Pilot Proficiency Program.

“Proficiency training has demonstrated that WINGS-qualified aviators are safer pilots and experience fewer accidents and fatalities,” WIN officials noted. “The winners’ actions contribute to these ever-improving statistics.”

The 2022 winners are:

  • $1,500: Alexander Romero, Miami, Florida
  • $1,500: Brian Beuerlein, Orlando, Florida
  • $1,500: Garrett Hendrickson, St. Petersburg, Florida
  • $1,500: Taylor Muiser, Mesa, Arizona
