Hearing is important for a pilot.

“Some of the most important moments of flying for the safety of those in the air and on the ground are during takeoffs and landings. Being able to clearly understand the ATC calls is where safe flying begins,” say officials with Lightspeed Aviation.

To that end, the company has released a free eBook, “Critical Comms: The Importance of Clear Hearing in Aviation.”

The new book delves into how active noise reduction (ANR) works, the effects of wearing an ANR headset during flight, and ways to help mitigate damage to your hearing, according to company officials.

Topics covered include:

  • Passive vs Active Noise Reduction
  • How Active Noise Reduction technology works in your headset
  • Answers the question ”Does ANR block an aircraft’s engine noise?”
  • Details of how ANR can help you in the cockpit and your hearing for the long term
  • What intelligibility is and the importance of hearing clearly

To get the free eBook, you need to fill out a simple form on the Lightspeed Aviation website. You’ll then receive an email with a link to download the eBook.
