By General Aviation News Staff · February 23, 2023 ·

A recent “Ask the Industry” poll by the Aircraft Electronics Association finds that 83.5% of repair stations are hiring technicians now or will need to hire more people later in 2023.

AEA officials note that the results are similar to one year ago when the same poll was conducted and found that 84.1% reported the need to hire technicians in 2022.

When asked about their repair station’s current employment outlook:

  • 69.4% said they are hiring technicians now.
  • 14.1% said they will need technicians later this year.
  • 11.8% said they are not hiring now.
  • 4.7% said they are overstaffed for the amount of work they have.
