Limited edition Piper J-3 Cub model takes off

By General Aviation News Staff · February 27, 2023 ·

New from Sporty’s is a die-cast Piper J-3 Cub model.

“You’d have to look far and wide to find a pilot who doesn’t like the Cub,” says Sporty’s President John Zimmerman. “This model is a fantastic memento from many pilots’ training experience.”

First flown in 1939, and still flying today, more than 20,000 J-3 Cubs were built — more than any other Piper aircraft.

The 1:72 scale die-cast replica features detailed printed graphics, realistic landing gear, see-through cockpit, and a rotating propeller, according to Sporty’s officials.

An included display stand lets you customize the flight configuration. Officially licensed by Piper, this model measures four inches long with a six-inch wingspan.

Price: $54.99.
