Officials with the aviation job website JSfirm.com report that the company has seen a 105.76% increase in the number of people applying for jobs, attributing it to applicants changing jobs for better career opportunities.
This includes applications for all careers in the aviation industry, including maintenance, avionics, management, engineering, pilots, sales, and more.
Company officials add that the number of companies advertising on the job site has increased 143.16% compared to 2022.
What’s behind the increase?
“Companies who have traditionally not had a problem making hires are now turning to our website to increase their applicant flow,” said Executive Director Abbey Hutter. “It’s so competitive right now, companies literally can’t keep up with what their competitors are offering.”

Forgive me for throwing cold water on this report. If I had a dollar for every time I have seen such positive reports about aviation hiring the past 50 years, I would be a rich man. Both my sons apprenticed as A&Ps in the early 2000s, encouraged by reports of huge demand for mechanics and great pay. When they finally earned their “tickets”, few were hiring, pay was low and often they could not even get 40 hours of work per week. One left aviation altogether, the other scraped by and eventually was hired by GE to build jet engines. The son of a pilot friend of mine his just finishing his aerospace engineering studies, with a 4.0 GPA. Despite all the great news of hiring, he has yet to receive a solid offer, despite applying to quite a few well-known aerospace companies. Me thinks much of the hoopla is created in order to have more hoopla…..
Agree Kent
Me too.
