After a three-year absence, Wright at Home returns, with visitors once again invited to an open house at Hawthorn Hill in Dayton, Ohio, Orville Wright’s family mansion.

Slated for April 23, 2023, the open house from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. gives visitors the opportunity to explore the home. Guides will be on hand to share information about the historic structure, its contents, and its owner, Orville Wright, according to officials with Dayton History.

Join a walking tour and learn about historic Wright family neighbors, including the founder of Cheez-It Crackers, a famous Dayton architect, a man nicknamed the “Maker of Machines,” and more.

Light refreshments will be provided, including Orville’s favorite cookies. Stephen Wright, the brothers’ great grandnephew, will be on hand to meet visitors as well.

Wright at Home is presented as a collaboration between Dayton History and the Oakwood Historical Society. Proceeds from this event will benefit both history organizations.

Reservations are required. Call 937-293-2841. Cost of admission is $40.
