New Flight Gear iPad Kneeboard features rotating surface

By General Aviation News Staff · April 21, 2023 ·

Just introduced is the Slimline iPad Kneeboard from Flight Gear, which features adjustable elastic straps to hold your tablet in place.

The kneeboard accommodates most iPads with or without a case, according to officials with Sporty’s Pilot Shop.

The kneeboard also features an integrated rotating mechanism to take your iPad from portrait to landscape orientation.

“A rotating kneeboard is ideal for chart apps,” says Sporty’s President John Zimmerman. “You use landscape to view large sectionals or en route charts, then switch to portrait when you load an approach or airport diagram. There are no locks or latches to operate, so it’s a one-handed maneuver, but there is enough friction to keep your iPad in place once it’s rotated.”

Sporty’s Flight Gear iPad Slimline Rotating kneeboard is available in two sizes. The Flight Gear Mini Slimline Rotating Kneeboard fits iPad Minis 1-6 and some other 7-inch tablets. The Flight Gear iPad Slimline Rotating Kneeboard is designed to fit 9-inch to 11-inch iPads. Each kneeboard is available for $22.95.
