It’s a different kind of fundraiser: The Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum in Atchison, Kansas, is offering the public a chance to have cocktails or dinner in Amelia’s family dining room.
“This is a chance for supporters and fans of Earhart to experience having dinner in the same room Earhart’s family dined in when she was a child, while helping preserve this historic site,” museum officials said.
Space in the cocktail hour is limited to 20 guests with a donation of $100 per guest. The dinner is limited to eight guests at a donation of $5,000 per guest or $9,500 for a couple. The event is July 20, 2023, starting at 6 p.m. for the cocktail party and 7 p.m. for dinner. Four grandchildren of Earhart’s sister, Muriel Earhart Morrissey, will also attend.
