Applications due June 30 for $50,000 in flight scholarships

The second annual CloudDancer scholarship will award $50,000 to veterans pursuing their dreams of becoming professional pilots.

In honor of U.S. Army Specialist Ashton Johnson, the CloudDancer Memorial Scholarship will award five recipients $10,000 each towards completing their FAA private pilot training and certification.

Eligibility is limited to current or prior service US military (Active Duty, Guard or Reserve) who served honorably, according to officials.

The scholarship was created in honor of Ashton Johnson (Army SPC) who passed away in October 2021 at 28 years old.
