DAYTON, Ohio — The public is invited to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force to see three World War II-era aircraft flown by the Commemorative Air Force during its Air Power History Tour. Aircraft, which will arrive July 3, 2023, and be at the museum through July 5, include the B-29 Superfortress “FiFi,” B-24 Liberator “Diamond Lil,” and a T-6 Texan, the legendary trainer of World War II.

All aircraft will be on static display July 4 and July 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aircraft crews will be available to talk with visitors, and cockpit tours of the B-29 and B-24 bombers will be available.

Museum officials note that, as in all things aviation, the schedule is subject to change due to weather or maintenance.

The aircraft are expected to arrive on Wright Field, which is just behind the museum, around 10 a.m. July 3. While visitors can watch the landing from Memorial Park or the museum parking lot, the aircraft will not be open to the public on Monday, museum officials noted.

On July 4 and July 5, bomber cockpit tours will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In honor of the T-6 trainer flown by the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP), free guided gallery tours will be offered, taking visitors through the history of women in the Air Force from World War II to space exploration.
