Mid-Continent expands Wichita headquarters

By General Aviation News Staff · July 10, 2023 ·

Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics has revealed plans for a 28,000-square-foot addition to its Wichita, Kansas, headquarters.

The expansion is part of the company’s “long-term, strategic plan to support immediate and future growth, accommodating increased customer demand worldwide,” according to company officials.

“This project is an example of our ongoing commitment to innovation,” said Todd Winter, president and CEO. “We invest heavily in research and development to propel our industry forward. Expanding our company allows us to grow our manufacturing facilities, in-house design, testing capabilities, and engineering department. This will attract new talent and add well-paying aviation jobs in the Air Capital.”

Founded in 1964, Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics employs more than 200 people in Wichita and Chatsworth, California. Mid-Continent and its True Blue Power division produce certified instruments, avionics, electrical power systems, and lithium-ion batteries, as well as operate overhaul, exchange, and repair programs.

The company will break ground in fall 2023 on the expansion, company officials noted.
