Picture of the Day: Early birds

By General Aviation News Staff · October 17, 2023 ·

Bill Walker sent in this photo with a note: “The five aircraft on the ground outnumber the first four cars in the parking lot for the early lunch opening of the Pilot’s Room, Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, at Stanton’s Barbecue near Bennettsville, S.C. Two more aircraft joined the group for a meal at the longtime airport restaurant. I took this photo while on final in my Cessna 180.”

We are blessed in southern NC to have both Stanton’s and the PiknPig (at BQ1) BBQ restaurants on private airfields. Kudos to the owners and thanks from area Sport Aviators. If you do not fly from grass, you are missing all the fun.
