Flight school conference breaks records

By General Aviation News Staff · February 29, 2024 ·

Officials with the Flight School Association of North America (FSANA) report the 15th annual Flight School Operators Conference set new records in the number of attendees and exhibitors.

While final numbers are not completed, it appears that more than 280 attendees came to Las Vegas for the Feb. 21-23, 2024, conference, along with 55 exhibitors, according to association officials.

The event “marks a milestone in flight training industry collaboration” as the 15th annual event brought together “more participants and vendors than ever before,” officials said, noting the “need for such collaboration continues to grow.”

The conference included a myriad of events, including a number of committee meetings, an accreditation workshop, a briefing from representatives from two airlines, and briefings from representatives from the FAA’s offices of Airmen Testing and Certification and Office of Aerospace Medicine and the TSA’s Flight Training Security Program.

It also included sessions on safety management in the flight training community, marketing skills, flight school logistics, talent management, airman testing discussions, and aviation insurance.

“Each year this event brings together participants from the industry, training and products providers, and representatives from federal agencies in a way no other event does for the flight training industry,” said FSANA CEO and President Robert Rockmaker.
