New digital altimeter/VSI combo introduced

By General Aviation News Staff · March 5, 2024 ·

Radiant Technology has introduced a new digital Altimeter + VSI Combo to its line of instrumentation for experimental and ultralight aircraft.

Altitude and vertical speed are shown in both digital and replica analog formats on the new instrument, which is available in standard 2-1/4 inch and 3-1/8 inch panel formats.

Pricing is set at $119.95 (2-1/4 inch) and $129.95 (3-1/8 inch).

In addition, Radiant is increasing its warranty period to three years for the new instrument, allowing more time for experimental builders to design their instrument panels with factory warranty support.

“This new product is similar to, yet distinct from, Radiant’s older GEN-2 Digital Altimeter,” company officials said. “It has an improved screen representation but does not include a barb adapter or an external temperature probe.”

Additional specifications and features include:

  • Weight of approximately 2 ounces
  • Power requirement is 6.5 to 14 volts @ 125ma. It will run off a 9-volt alkaline battery. The power must be externally switched, EG, through master avionics power switch.
  • Cases are 3D printed in black nylon.
  • Dimmable. (External potentiometer NOT included)

The new instrument is available from Aircraft Spruce and from Radiant Technology.
