A new podcast, “Air Racing: Past, Present and Future,” has launched.
Hosted by David Costa of RenegadeAV8R, the first episode features Tony Logoteta, Chief Operating Officer of the Reno Air Racing Association.
“Following the disappointing revelation that the National Championship Air Races must seek a new home for their storied event, racers and fans eagerly await the next chapter in air racing,” officials noted. “RenegadeAV8R and the Reno Air Racing Association provide the opportunity to stay connected while the next chapter is written.”
“So many volunteers, race teams, and fans are disappointed since the news of the National Championship Air Races leaving Reno,” says Costa. “I want to talk to my friends in air racing and meet new ones. Let’s talk about the lore of air racing, the history, and stories from those who made history, in anticipation of the next chapter in the world’s fastest motorsport.”
Air Racing: Past, Present, and Future will include interviews with racers, volunteers, fans, and the people behind air racing. The format will allow live questions and encourage fans to participate.
“While leaving Reno was certainly not a situation we wanted, the fact is that this is not the end of air racing, but a new beginning,” said Logoteta. “While we’re sad to leave our historic home, it’s also an exciting time and we’re very confident that our new location will be a great place to gather our air racing family. First, though, we’ll celebrate 60 years in Reno with a world-class air show. While we won’t be racing, it will be a celebration of all the pageantry and excitement that our event has brought to the area for six decades.”
The Oct. 4-6, 2024, event will feature the Blue Angels, the Canadian Snowbirds, and the USAF F-16 Viper Demonstration Team. RenegadeAV8R also will fly as a performer at this show.
Air Racing: Past, Present, and Future with RenegadeAV8R is available by live stream and on most podcast platforms.
