Could your Cherokee be immortalized in a model?

By General Aviation News Staff · March 26, 2024 ·

A Piper Cherokee (Model PA-28-236)

Sporty’s and Gemini Jets have launched a Piper Cherokee Die-Cast Model Contest.

“This is your chance to see your beloved Piper Cherokee transformed into a stunning, intricately detailed die-cast model at a 1:72 scale,” officials said.

Owners of Piper Cherokee 140, 150, 160, or 180 are invited to enter the contest.

“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate the beauty and legacy of the Piper Cherokee in a tangible, unforgettable way,” officials added.

How to Enter

Submit images of your Piper Cherokee along with a brief description explaining why your plane deserves to be the next die-cast model.

“Whether it’s a classic design, a unique paint scheme, or a rich history of adventures in the sky,” officials said they want to hear what makes your airplane stand out.

The judging panel will review each entry, considering factors such as visual appeal, historical significance, and overall uniqueness.

The winner will receive a custom-made die-cast model to display alongside their real-life aircraft.

To enter the contest, email Branden Thompson at [email protected] with images of your plane. Submissions must be received by April 2, 2024.

Sporty’s officials note that once the winner is selected, it will take at least a year for the model to be released.
