AirspaceAuctions.com will auction off a Boeing YL-15 Scout starting May 22, 2024.
This rare post-World War II warbird was restored over 13 years by Keith Brunquist.
The YL-15 Scout, a standout at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017 where it was crowned grand champion for post-World War II warbirds, represents a unique chapter in aviation history, according to officials.
Originally designed for liaison missions, the Boeing YL-15 is noted for its unconventional design, featuring a blimp-like fuselage, 40-foot wingspan with flaperons and spoilers, and a cockpit providing observational capabilities.

Produced between 1946 and 1949, the YL-15s served with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service in Alaska before being phased out.
Keith’s father, Norm Brunquist, acquired YL-15 47-432, the last of its kind, and after years of rest, Keith undertook its restoration, infusing life into this historic aircraft, officials noted.

Cool. If it is airworthy I bid $1000.
Raise the bid if that condition is maintained, in $1.500
I mean the amount of my bid is $1500.😄
I remember this and another one sitting on the edge of Lake Spenard for years. If memory serves me correctly, “Ham” Hamilton may have been involved in them and Dick Odgers may have been involved later during the sale of them.
