Jumpstart kits for homebuilt panels unveiled

By General Aviation News Staff · April 15, 2024 ·

Dynon and Advanced Flight Systems have introduced the Advanced Control Module (ACM).

For the first time, customers can buy the ACM at retail — from both Dynon and Advanced Flight systems — with the ACM Jumpstart Kit, company officials said.

Builders who wish to have “everything but the panel” tailored for them can opt for the ADVANCEDPANEL BYO Panel option.

Both are built around the ACM, an avionics control center that integrates and automates a wide range of common aircraft avionics, aircraft systems, wiring, and electrical peripherals to save time, simplify installation, and enhance safety, according to Dynon officials.

Previously only available in the ADVANCEDPANEL Complete, which remains the flagship ADVANCEDPANEL offering, these new products allow more homebuilders to build the ACM into their aircraft, company officials said.

“For years, Dynon and Advanced avionics have been the easiest to install by a large margin owing to factory-made harnesses, SkyView Network cables, a suite of builder support accessories, and of course the ADVANCEDPANEL Complete. This is the next step: The Advanced Control Module (ACM) is now available to all Dynon and Advanced homebuilt customers, allowing pilots to get airborne while benefiting from the ACM’s ability to save time, simplify installation, and enhance safety,” says Michael Schofield, director of marketing for Dynon.

The ACM Jumpstart Kit includes the Advanced Control Module and pre-made plug and play harnesses that every ACM-based avionics installation requires. This includes harnesses for a single SkyView or AF-6000 series display, Display Backup Battery, Transponder, ADS-B Receiver, and SV-GPS-2020/250 GPS receiver/antenna.

The kit, available now in both SkyView HDX and AF-6000 series editions, is priced at $3,450.

Customers who purchase the ACM Jumpstart Kit can finish their avionics suite at the new ADVANCEDPANEL Store at ADVANCEDPANEL.store. The store contains all the ACM-specific harnesses that are designed to connect between the ACM and various avionics and aircraft components. Harnesses are available in a variety of sizes to fit a wide range of aircraft. Additional components and modules are also available on the store, or through Dynon and Advanced directly, company officials said.
