Tecnam unveils next generation P2006T

By General Aviation News Staff · April 22, 2024 ·

The new Tecnam P2006NG.

On opening day of AERO Friederischafen 2024, Europe’s largest general aviation show, Tecnam introduced the new edition of its P2006T.

This new design comes after listening to customer suggestions, according to officials with the Italian company, who note that 400 P2006Ts have been delivered.

The new TECNAM P2006T NG (Next Generation) is the result of more than 300 improvements of the current P2006T MkII, company officials noted.

Improvements include:

  • An additional front door for the co-pilot
  • External access to the baggage compartment
  • Redesigned windows are larger to improve visibility
  • The airplane is now powered by twin fuel injected Rotax9121Sc3 engines, offering high altitude efficiency and reduced fuel consumption of 3.7 USG/h per engine
  • The wing position and anti-collision lights are integrated into the winglets and equipped with technology.

The interior has also undergone improvements, with a central console that houses the FMS GCU477 keyboard for management of all Garmin avionics, including the GFC700 3-axis autopilot, and the G1000 NXi, company officials said.

Tecnam also offers a “super-premium” version called the P2006 NG SPORT.

This version features a black leather dashboard with LED lights, carbon-look panels, yokes and central console covered in leather, leather side walls, and side panels with carbon look logos.

Company officials report the launch customer for the new airplane is Fly-By Aviation Academy in Spain.
