uAvionix boosts situational awareness on runways

By General Aviation News Staff · April 24, 2024 ·

uAvionix’s FlightLine ADS-B surveillance and situational awareness system has been selected by the FAA to help reduce the risk of runway incursions at U.S. airports.

FlightLine can provide surface situational awareness to ATC towers that don’t have surface surveillance systems — currently only 44 airports, company officials noted.

The first FlightLine deployments will be at Indianapolis International Airport (KIND) and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (KAUS). The systems will be fully operational by June 30, 2024, uAvionix officials said.
