Kentucky Aviation of Fame reveals Class of 2024

By General Aviation News Staff · May 2, 2024 ·

The Kentucky Aviation of Hall has released the names of the Class of 2024. It includes:

Ralph G. Anderson (1923-2010), a Kentucky-born engineer and philanthropist, who founded Belcan, one of the nation’s largest engineering firms, after serving in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. His dedication to education was unparalleled, as he funded scholarships and engineering programs at the University of Kentucky and other institutions.

W. Sidney Park (1899-1988) pioneered aerial photography. He developed surveying and camera technologies and played a role in establishing the industry. Park co-founded Bowman Airfield, which became the first home of the U.S. Army Air Corps Reserve in Kentucky. He then founded Bowman-Park Aero Co., which took the first aerial surveys of Louisville Gas & Electric. Park’s company, Park Aerial Surveys, went on to map thousands of miles for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and played a significant role in creating topographic maps and geodetic control for infrastructure projects.

General B. Chance Saltzman, a native of Bowling Green, Kentucky, is the second Chief of Space Operations for the United States Space Force. His career began with a focus on missiles and space in the U.S. Air Force. He served in combat operations and strategic planning leadership roles, including flight commander for reconnaissance satellite constellations. In 2016, he was hand-picked to lead a new military structure focused on multi-domain command and control. This experience proved to be instrumental in establishing the U.S. Defense Department Joint All-Domain Command and Control, a structure designed to maximize the impact of U.S. military assets across all domains, including space.

The enshrinement ceremony will be held Oct. 19, 2024 in Lexington.

Congratulations to the three inductees who have accomplished great and wonderfiul things. Their contributions have not only benefited Kentucky, but the nation and the world.
I feel sure there are women in Kentucky who have contributed to aviation in many ways.
Would you please send me a list of all those who have been inducted in the Kentucky Aviation of Fame since is was established.

I would appreciate receiving such. Ann Holtgren Pellegreno
